What the SRP pattern does

The engineered directional cross-drill and face slot pattern improves brake response and pad performance from light braking through heavy braking. The venting and cleaning action of the holes and slots reduces pad glaze and disperses the gasses and heat generated at the pad-to-rotor interface. The same pattern inhibits irregular pad compound build-up on the rotor faces, which produces smoother engagement and better pedal response. Material removed by the drilling and slotting also lowers rotating and unsprung weight.
