Refund policy

Core Brake Parts wants you to install parts that fit and perform. If something arrives wrong, arrives damaged, or does not fit the vehicle it was listed for, we make it right. This policy explains exactly how returns and refunds work, in plain language.

Core Brake Parts is a trade name of Core Parts Group LLC, Circleville, Ohio. Questions about any return can go to sales@corebrakeparts.com and are answered within one business day.

30-Day Return Window

You may return most new, uninstalled parts within 30 days of delivery for a refund, as long as the part is in its original, unopened packaging and in resalable condition.

To start a return, email sales@corebrakeparts.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We will reply with return instructions and the return address. Please do not ship anything back before you receive those instructions, so we can track the package to the right place.

Who Pays Return Shipping

  • Change-of-mind or wrong-part-ordered returns: the customer pays return shipping. The original outbound shipping cost is not refunded on these returns.
  • Our error (wrong item shipped) or a defective / damaged part: Core Brake Parts pays return shipping. We send a prepaid label and cover the cost both ways.

There is no restocking fee on standard returns. We reserve the right to decline returns or charge a reasonable restocking fee only in cases of obvious abuse (for example, repeated returns of installed or damaged parts).

Brake Pads and Friction Material

For safety reasons, brake pads, shoes, and other friction material cannot be returned once the packaging is opened or the parts are installed. Friction surfaces are easily contaminated by oil, moisture, and handling, and contaminated pads are a braking hazard. Unopened, uninstalled friction parts follow the standard 30-day window above.

Damaged or Defective on Arrival

If a part arrives damaged or is defective out of the box, contact us within 5 business days of delivery at sales@corebrakeparts.com with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We will send a replacement or issue a full refund, including all shipping, at no cost to you.

Remanufactured Parts and Core Charges

Some remanufactured parts, such as calipers and master cylinders, carry a refundable core charge that is shown on the product page at the time of purchase. The core charge is a deposit on the old rebuildable part. When you return your original core in rebuildable condition within 30 days of delivery, the core deposit is refunded to your original payment method.

Manufacturer Warranty

Parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty for the applicable brand and product line. If a part fails within its warranty period, contact us at sales@corebrakeparts.com and we will help file the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. Warranty coverage is limited to the replacement of the defective part and does not cover installation labor or consequential costs. See our Terms of Service for the full warranty disclaimer.

Non-Returnable Items

The following are final sale and cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or defective:

  • Opened or installed brake pads, shoes, and friction material
  • Brake fluid and other hazardous-material items once opened
  • Special-order and clearance items marked "final sale" on the product page
  • Any part that has been installed, used, or altered

How and When Refunds Are Issued

Once we receive and inspect your return, we process approved refunds within 3–5 business days to your original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take a few additional days to post the credit. We will email you when the refund is issued. Refunds are not issued as store credit unless you specifically request it.
