Race compounds in the DTC family need heat to reach full bite and will feel wooden when cold. Bed the pads in properly before your first session and expect more dust and noise than a street pad.

Choosing a compound

Hawk builds three Dynamic Torque Control grades. DTC-30 comes up soonest and stays predictable, DTC-60 sits in the middle with more peak torque and heat capacity, and DTC-70 is the most aggressive. All three are competition friction materials and will wear rotors faster and run louder than a factory replacement pad, which is the trade for consistent stopping power once the brakes are hot.
