Braided stainless lines resist the expansion that a rubber hose develops with age and heat, which is what a soft or long pedal often traces back to. Route the line clear of moving suspension, steering, and hot exhaust components, and check that it has slack through the full travel of the suspension and steering.

Bleed the system thoroughly after any line change and inspect every fitting for seepage under firm pedal pressure before the vehicle is driven. Brake hydraulic work should be done by someone equipped to bleed and test the system properly.
