Why slotted

The slot pattern pulls dirt, dust and debris out of the braking zone and lets heat escape, so the rotors run cooler and resist fade under load and at speed. Slots also keep pad wear flat and parallel instead of cutting the record grooves that plain discs develop, which holds pad contact steady across the life of the set. Fine slots resist the cracking that through-drilled discs are prone to.
