Built to take heat

The cast iron outer ring floats on EBC's patented SD-Drive bobbins and can expand and contract by up to 3mm under the heat of hard braking, which keeps the disc flat instead of coning. Machining each bobbin from a single piece of stainless steel prevents corrosion from seizing the float, and the anti-rattle spring clips stop the off-brake rattle common to full race two-piece discs. Dropping unsprung rotating mass sharpens turn-in and reduces the load on the rest of the corner.
