The silver hub finish is useful if you are replacing only one axle, since it matches the OE look on the other end of the car.

EBC introduced the Gen 2 black hub version of the BSD rotor in 2023 and has since moved to the Gen 3 silver Geomet coated hub used here. On a light car like the Miata, the V slot face gives sharper initial bite than a plain disc without the wind noise that a wide aperture slot can bring on a car with very little sound deadening.
