Drilling and slotting the same face does two jobs at once: the holes shed heat and give gas an escape route, while the slots keep a clean cutting edge passing under the pad so friction stays consistent instead of tapering off as the pad glazes. Because the rotor is uni-directional, take note of which side each rotor belongs on during installation. Replace rotors in axle pairs and bed in new pads with them.
