Fits these vehicles
Rear drum brake applications. The seller lists these for trucks with 11.6 inch x 2.29 inch (294.6mm x 61mm) rear drums, so measure your drums before ordering. Compatibility table:
- Dodge Dakota, 2005-2010: ST, SXT, SLT, Sport, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, TRX, TRX4 trims; Extended Cab and Crew Cab pickups; 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8 (gas and flex fuel)
- Mitsubishi Raider, 2006-2009: LS, DuroCross, XLS and SE trims; Extended Cab and Crew Cab pickups; 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8
Signs you need this part
- Rear brake pedal feel is spongy or the shoes drag after a brake job
- Squeaks, rattles or clicking from the rear wheels at low speed
- Rear brake shoes wearing unevenly or one side wearing faster than the other
- Rusted, stretched or broken return springs and clips when the drums come off
- You are replacing rear shoes or drums on a Dakota or Raider and want the springs and clips renewed at the same time
Installation notes
Replace the springs, pins and clips every time the rear shoes are changed. Old springs lose tension from heat, which causes drag and uneven lining wear. Work one side at a time so the other side stays assembled as a reference, clean the backing plate and the contact points, and confirm the self-adjuster still turns freely. After installation, set the adjuster, refit the drums, pump the pedal until it firms up, and test the parking brake before driving.
Shipping and returns
Free shipping on orders over $75 to the lower 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories pay calculated shipping. Unopened parts are returnable. Opened parts may carry up to a 30% restocking fee. You are responsible for confirming fitment for your vehicle before ordering, so check the vehicle list above against your year, model, trim, engine and brake setup.
