Before you install

Brake pads are a wear item, so check the rest of the corner while the wheel is off. Look over the rotor faces for scoring or a heavy lip, and make sure the caliper slide pins and hardware move freely and are clean. Replace pads on both sides of the same axle together so braking stays even side to side, and follow the pad break-in procedure supplied by the manufacturer before any hard driving.
