Track notes

On a light rear-drive chassis the rear brakes do less work than the fronts, so a controllable compound like DTC-30 helps keep the car stable under trail braking. It is still a race pad: bed it in before hard use and expect more noise and dust than a street compound.

Choosing a compound

Hawk builds three Dynamic Torque Control grades. DTC-30 is the entry point: it comes up to friction soonest and stays predictable across a broad temperature band, which makes it easy to drive at the limit. DTC-60 and DTC-70 raise peak torque and heat capacity for faster cars and longer sessions. All three are competition friction materials and will wear rotors faster and run louder than a factory replacement pad, which is the trade for consistent stopping power once the brakes are hot.
