Track notes

DTC-30 is the most forgiving of the DTC compounds and the usual starting point for drivers stepping up from a street pad to a track pad. It still prefers heat, so bed it in before your first session.

Choosing a compound

Hawk builds three Dynamic Torque Control grades. DTC-30 is the entry point: it comes up to friction soonest and stays predictable across a broad temperature band, which makes it easy to drive at the limit. DTC-60 and DTC-70 raise peak torque and heat capacity for faster cars and longer sessions. All three are competition friction materials and will wear rotors faster and run louder than a factory replacement pad, which is the trade for consistent stopping power once the brakes are hot.
