Why slotted rotors

Slots machined across the friction face give pad gas, dust and worn friction material somewhere to go instead of building a glazed film between pad and disc. The result is a cleaner, more repeatable bite when the brakes are hot, and a pad that keeps refreshing its own surface rather than polishing over. Slotted discs also make pad wear easy to read at a glance during a wheel-off inspection.

Installation

Rotors should be fitted with fresh pads and bedded in according to the pad manufacturer's procedure before hard use. Check runout and clean the hub face on assembly.
