USR is EBC's super-silent slotted design: the slots are narrow enough to cut air noise but still sweep gas and debris off the pad face, so braking stays consistent as heat builds. Because the discs are slotted rather than drilled through, they resist the cracking that through-drilled discs are prone to under repeated hard use. Slotted faces also keep pad wear flat and parallel instead of cutting record grooves into the friction surface.
