Why A Floating Disc

Letting the cast iron ring expand and contract independently of the aluminum bell keeps the disc flat as it heats, which protects pedal feel through a session instead of only the first few laps. The 2-piece construction also removes unsprung rotational mass, sharpening turn-in and improving how the tires stay planted. Stainless bobbins resist the corrosion that seizes lesser floating discs after a winter, so the ring keeps floating years later.
