Know what you are buying

RP-X is developed for peak on-track performance, which means higher brake dust and higher brake noise than a street pad. Disc wear is comparable to other popular track materials but noticeably greater than RP-1. For light to medium weight cars, cars running non-EBC big brake kits, or vehicles without ABS, the less fierce RP-1 compound may suit better. RP-X is well matched to heavy or under-servoed vehicles.
