RP-X is an ultra high performance compound for cars driven hard on track and for dedicated race cars. It was developed for peak on-track performance, so expect higher brake dust and higher brake noise than a street pad. For light to medium weight cars, cars running non-EBC big brake kits, or vehicles without ABS, EBC's less fierce RP-1 compound may be preferable.
