What slotting does

The slots sweep dust, gas and debris out of the braking zone and keep the pad face flat and parallel, so the pad keeps full contact through its life instead of cutting the record grooves a plain rotor can leave. Slotted faces also resist the cracking that cross drilled rotors are prone to under heat. Pair them with a high friction pad set to get the full benefit.
