The V pattern moves heat off the disc face better than an original equipment style rotor, so the pads run cooler on average. Cooler pads hold their friction level longer, which is what keeps the pedal firm on a Mustang that sees repeated hard stops rather than one panic stop.

The slot pattern is cut to stay quiet, so this is a performance rotor that does not announce itself at low speed. Current production uses Geomet coated silver hubs, which match the factory hub finish if only one axle is being changed, and the high carbon iron is thermally stable enough to resist the heat spotting that causes judder.
