Why the V pattern

The V groove is what separates a BSD rotor from an OE-style disc. It moves heat out of the friction face more effectively, so the pads run cooler on average and hold their friction level deeper into a hard session. EBC has since moved the BSD line to Gen 3 silver Geomet coated hubs, which match the OE silver hub finish, so changing only one axle on the car does not leave a mismatched look front to rear.
