The BSD rotor uses EBC's V-shaped slot pattern instead of a conventional straight slot. The V pattern moves heat out of the disc face and helps the pads run cooler on average than they would on an OE-style blank, while staying far quieter than a typical slotted rotor - EBC calls it the silent slot pattern for that reason.
