Three-slot venting keeps the cooling benefit of a full-width slot while producing less air noise under heavy braking. The slots also keep pad wear flat and parallel, which avoids the record grooves and galling common on plain rotors and holds pad contact steady over the life of the set. Every rotor is inspected individually for runout.
