About this compound

A performance pad is chosen for where it works, not for a single friction number. Street compounds bite from cold and stay quiet; harder high-load and track compounds want heat in them before they give their best, and trade some cold bite and some noise for the ability to keep working when an ordinary pad has faded. Fading is what a driver feels as a long pedal near the bottom of a hill or after several hard stops in a row, and it is the reason to move up a compound rather than simply fit another set of the same.

Installation notes

Fit pads as a complete axle set, never one side on its own. Bed them in before hard use so the transfer layer builds evenly across both rotor faces, and inspect the rotors while the wheels are off: pairing new pads with a scored or unevenly worn rotor leaves a patchy deposit that shows up later as a pulsation through the pedal. Replace the hardware and lubricate the slide pins so the caliper releases cleanly.
