Why a two-piece rear rotor

A two-piece rotor separates the friction ring from its mounting hat, which helps the ring manage heat and reduces the rotating mass the rear axle has to control. The T3 slotted face keeps the pad surface clean and helps release the gases and dust that build up between pad and rotor during repeated hard stops. Slotting also keeps pad wear flat and parallel across the face of the disc, so pad contact stays consistent as the set wears in. Because the friction ring bolts to a separate hat, the ring can move with heat instead of loading up the mounting face, which helps the rotor stay true over its service life.
