What the T3 slot does

The uni-directional T-slot pattern gives friction dust and gas extra exit points as the pad sweeps across the disc, which helps the pad keep a consistent bite instead of glazing over during repeated hard stops. The slotted face also cleans the pad surface on every rotation.
