Leverage, Not Guesswork

A bigger rotor gives the caliper a longer lever arm, and Baer reports independent third-party testing showing up to a 49 percent gain in braking effectiveness along with as much as a 200-degree reduction in rotor temperature versus stock in extreme conditions, helped by the curved vane design pumping air through the disc. For a loaded three-quarter or one-ton truck coming down a grade, that translates to shorter stops and far less fade.
