4-piston opposed-piston caliper — correct for the 5.7L V8 Tundra front brake system. For 2016+ Tundra with a different caliper design, verify OE numbers before ordering. Full brake calipers collection for matching rear caliper set + brake pads.
Why 4-Piston Opposed Design on the Tundra
- Even pad wear — the opposed piston design clamps both sides of the rotor equally (vs single-piston floating), reducing uneven pad wear on a heavy full-size truck
- Consistent pedal feel — no floating caliper slider drag or sticking
- Correct spec for 5.7L V8 — the higher torque and weight of the V8 Tundra requires the opposed-piston design to maintain OE brake performance
- Anti-rust coating — extends life through Northeast / Midwest salt-belt winters
- Sold as pair — always replace calipers left and right together for even brake force
Install Notes
- Verify the reference number on your OE caliper matches the ones above before ordering
- Bench-bleed each caliper before install if pistons feel dry
- Silicone brake grease on slider surfaces and pad backing plate contact points - not chassis grease
- Torque caliper bracket bolts per Tundra service spec for your specific year and trim
- Never re-use the old brake hose if pedal feels spongy after install - the internal rubber delaminates after 10+ years
- Replace pads and consider new rotors in the same job for best pedal feel
- Bleed both fronts in the standard sequence: passenger side first (furthest from master cylinder)
