If you want Brembo parts on a 2006 to 2015 Lexus IS250, the simplest fit is the Brembo OE front kit, which pairs UV-coated rotors with ceramic pads and is listed for every IS250 year in that span. The EBC and DBA parts we carry cover narrower year ranges, so match your model year before you order. Below is how each part lines up, what the specs mean, and what to replace at the same time.
What Brembo OE Means on an IS250
Brembo sells two very different things. One is the big multi-piston caliper upgrade people picture. The other is replacement-grade parts built to the original size, which Brembo sells under its Prime line and describes as equivalent to original equipment. The Brembo OE front disc brake kit KT00499 for the 2006-2015 Lexus IS250 is the second kind. It uses the factory calipers and brackets, so the car stops and feels like stock, just with fresh parts.
Two features set the Brembo rotor apart from a bare cast rotor:
- UV coating. Brembo paints the braking band, the outer diameter and the hat (the bell) with a UV-cured coating, and says it verifies corrosion resistance in salt spray chamber testing. The protected hat and edge are what keep the rotor from turning orange behind open-spoke wheels.
- High carbon iron. Brembo states its high carbon alloy improves heat conduction and shortens cooling time, and high carbon discs are known for damping vibration and noise.
The pads in the kit are ceramic, the compound Brembo pitches for low noise and low vibration rather than track use. That matches how most IS250s are driven.
Which Parts Fit Which IS250 Years
Not every part spans the full 2006 to 2015 run, and several of our listings stop at 2008. Use this table before you add anything to the cart.
| Part | Position | Listed IS250 years | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brembo OE kit KT00499 | Front rotors and pads | 2006-2015 | Stock feel, low noise, one box |
| DBA Street Series T2 DBA2726S | Front rotor | 2006-2013 | Slotted look, cooler running |
| EBC Redstuff DP31772C | Front pads | 2006-2008 (2.5) | Lowest dust, stronger bite |
| EBC Greenstuff 2000 DP21772 | Front pads | 2006-2008 (2.5) | Spirited street driving |
| EBC USR7391 slotted rotor set | Rear rotors | 2006-2008 (2.5) | Matching slotted rear |
The IS250 is not the IS350, and brake parts are listed separately for each. If your car is all-wheel drive, has a sport package or you are not sure what is on it, confirm the part against your VIN or the rotor size on the old rotor before ordering.
Rotor Specs That Matter
DBA publishes the numbers for its DBA2726S front rotor, and they give you a useful baseline: a 296mm diameter, 28mm thickness new and a 26mm minimum thickness. That leaves only 2mm of usable wear, which is why these front rotors rarely survive a second set of pads. Measure yours with a micrometer at several points around the face. If any reading is at or below the minimum cast into the rotor, replace it rather than machine it.
DBA builds the T2 with CNC-machined bi-symmetrical slots, a Kangaroo Paw vane pattern for cooling, anti-rust paint on the non-friction areas and a machine-turned face meant to hold thickness variation down. Because the design is bi-directional, the same rotor fits either side. The slots give dust and gas a path out from under the pad, which helps bite.
Choosing Pads: Brembo Ceramic vs EBC
For a daily-driven IS250, the ceramic pads in the Brembo kit are the safe choice: quiet, clean and built to feel like the original brakes. If you want more bite or less dust on a 2006 to 2008 car, EBC offers two options that fit.
- EBC Redstuff is a copper-free organic compound enhanced with ceramic granules and zero steel fiber. EBC says it makes extremely minimal dust that washes off with a sponge, and aims it at faster street driving on sports and prestige cars. Pick it if brake dust on the wheels is your main complaint.
- EBC Greenstuff 2000 is aimed at spirited street use on lighter sports sedans, with a nominal friction coefficient of 0.55 and medium to low dust. EBC itself steers heavier, faster cars toward Redstuff, so on a sedan like the IS250, Redstuff is usually the better match.
Whichever pad you choose, put it on fresh or properly measured rotors. New pads on a worn, uneven rotor are the most common cause of vibration and noise after a brake job. For more options, browse our ceramic brake pads and brake rotors.
Symptoms That Say It Is Time
- Steering wheel shake when braking from highway speed. Usually thickness variation in the front rotors. Replace the rotors, not just the pads.
- A high-pitched squeal that stops when you brake. That is typically the wear indicator touching the rotor. The pads are near the end.
- Grinding. The pad material is gone and steel is on iron. Stop driving and replace pads and rotors together.
- A deep lip on the rotor edge or visible grooves. Measure thickness. If the rotor is at minimum, it is done.
- A soft or sinking pedal. This is a hydraulic problem, not a pad problem. Check the fluid level and look for leaks before you touch pads.
What to Replace at the Same Time, and How Hard the Job Is
A front pad and rotor job on the IS250 is a reasonable driveway project for someone with a floor jack, jack stands and a torque wrench. Plan on these extras:
- Hardware. Replace the abutment clips and clean and lubricate the slide pins. A sticky pin wears one pad faster than the other. See our brake hardware kits.
- Fluid. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time. Use the fluid type printed on the reservoir cap and flush it if it is dark or due by the owner's manual schedule.
- Torque. Tighten the caliper bracket bolts and lug nuts to the values in the factory service manual. Do not final-torque lug nuts with an impact gun, as uneven clamping can distort the rotor.
- Clean the hub face. Rust on the hub under the rotor hat causes runout and a pulsing pedal. Wire brush it clean before mounting the new rotor.
After installation, bed the pads in. EBC notes its street pads are largely self-bedding over about the first 100 miles of normal driving, and that Redstuff typically seats within 100 to 150 miles. Avoid hard, aggressive braking during that period. Shop the full range in our brake parts collection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Brembo OE kit fit every IS250 from 2006 to 2015?
The KT00499 kit is listed for 2006 through 2015 IS250 front brakes. Confirm the listing against your VIN or your existing rotor size before installing, especially on AWD cars.
Why are Brembo UV-coated rotors painted?
Brembo coats the braking band, outer edge and hat to resist corrosion, and tests that protection in a salt spray chamber. The practical payoff is a rotor hat that stays clean-looking behind the wheel instead of rusting.
Will EBC Redstuff fit my 2012 IS250?
The Redstuff and Greenstuff pads we carry are listed for 2006-2008 IS250 2.5. For a 2009 or later car, the Brembo OE kit covers the front pads and rotors.
Can I reuse my rotors with new pads?
Only if they measure above minimum thickness and have no thickness variation or deep grooves. With about 2mm of wear allowance on the front rotor, replacing rotors with pads is usually the better call.
Do I need slotted rotors on a street IS250?
No. A plain OE-style rotor like the Brembo is fine for daily driving. Slotted rotors such as the DBA T2 help clear pad dust and gas and suit owners who brake harder or like the look.
