The hydro-mechanical calipers use master cylinder pressure for stopping power and an internal mechanical lock for the parking brake, so no internal shoe-style parking brake is needed.

What is in the kit

Rear axle kit for Ford 8.8 rear ends

Combination Parking Brake calipers, black finish

12.19 in diameter x 0.81 in thick drilled one-piece rotor assemblies with integral hats

High friction BP-10 compound pads

Brake lines included

Manufacturer part number 140-12049-D

Why a CPB kit

CPB kits exist for rear-wheel-drive axles that are not well suited to drum-in-hat parking brakes.
